We really don’t like thieves. We also dislike how Cheshire has become a target for theives attempting to maximise the value of their crimes.
We believe the best way to stop car theft is to make life as hard as possible for any would-be thieves. Bollards allow you to stand in the way of the thieves and the quick exit they look to make with victim vehicles... while you sleep, or even while you're away from home.
Bollards are typically installed at the outer edge of a driveway, thus also creating a visual deterrent to anyone prowling your area looking for valuable cars parked at easy targets.

How do you install the heavy duty telescopic bollards?
With great care! This includes initial measurement/positioning, auger drill/dig out, sub-base compaction and drainage, installation of the bollard, concrete reinforcement and surface finish. Our teams are trained to do a great job on every bollard. You’ll need to give the concrete 3 days to set before driving over your new bollards!
How long does it take to have bollards installed?
Our teams are trained to finish to a high standard, 2-person teams are typically tasked with 2 perfectly installed and beautifully finished bollards per 8hr day. If a 3rd bollard is required at the same site, a single team may work a longer day to finish 3 bollards. More than 3 bollards will require more visits or multiple teams.
Will I need a skip?
Well, that depends! If you have any where to put the dug out material (large borders, underside of trees/shrubs, a compost heap) then no! If not, and you’re only having 1 bollard installed, you could potentially fill rubble sacks - if you’re super determined you could even fill a few more and dispose of 2 bollard‘s worth of dig out in sacks. If you have nowhere to put soil, or are having multiple bollards installed, or just have zero desire to be left with a few hundred KGs of dirt (like us!) then, yes, we recommend an approriate skip.
How much does it cost to install bollards?
Each installation we do is unique, and therefore has it‘s own unique traits and challenges. Some bollards need to stand on a dangerously steep hill, some next to a really busy road, some installs have very limited room or a need to carry goods/muds a long way. A survey always allows us to better assess the caveats at a prospective site, but we work off a basic installation charge per bollard. The basic installation charge includes all (drainage/concrete/reinforcement) materials required excluding the bollard and any special surface finishes you may require.
What about other types of bollard options?
While we can provide static / removable / automatic options, for 9 out of 10 driveways a telescopic option is best. Occasionally we accompany telescopic entry bollards with static bollards, to close an open-sided space, or where vehicular access is never intended (driveways that back onto patios for example).
I‘m concerned about being able to lift the bollard up?
Assisted-lift bollards include an internal piston which aids lifting by up to 60% and softens the closing action of the bollard. Its a fairly common concern, and we’re ready to help - just ask for more details.
